Class Activities and Assignments :

 

Monday, December 19, 2016:  Students in periods 2, 4, & 6 completed their semester exam for AP English.  There is no homework other than the optional winter assignment for bonus points.

 

Tuesday, December 20, 2016:  Students in first period completed their semester exam for AP English.  There is no homework other than the optional winter assignment for bonus points.

 

Wednesday, January 4, 2017:  Students viewed a slide show that provided an overview of what will be studied this semester, reviewed PLOTTSS notes and read through "Richard Cory" with the teacher.

 

Thursday, January 5, 2017:  Students completed a new round of multiple-choice practice and then began work on this week's PLOTTSS notes over "Aunt Jennifer's Tigers."  Those notes will be due at the start of class Tuesday, January 10, 2017.

 

Monday, January 9, 2017:  Students reviewed the poem and correct answers to Thursday's multiple-choice practice and then reviewed PLOTTSS notes over "Aunt Jennifer's Tigers." Most classes saw an example of notes and paragraph format in class. As homework, students are to finish their PLOTTSS notes over "Aunt Jennifer's Tigers" in preparation for the timed paragraph writing in class tomorrow where they can use the notes.  Notes will be due when the paragraph is completed tomorrow.

 

Tuesday, January 10, 2017:  Students completed their first timed PLOTTSS writing task at the start of class, and then received a new PLOTTSS poem.  The new PLOTTSS poem notes will be due at the start of class next Tuesday.  Students then received an anticipation guide for Hamlet.  The anticipation guide will be due at the start of class tomorrow.

 

Wednesday, January 11, 2017:  Students turned in their anticipation guide work and took introductory notes, then began reading the first scene of Hamlet.

 

Thursday, January 12, 2017:  Students completed a new round of multiple-choice practice and completed reading the first scene of Hamlet.

 

Friday, January 13, 2017:  Students received their multiple-choice practice and quickly reviewed the correct answers to calculate their scores.  Students then resumed their reading of Hamlet, with some classes completing the reading of Act I, scene ii, and other classes nearly finishing the second scene.  As homework, students are to complete study guide questions over scenes i-ii, begin completion of the graphic organizer, and finish taking all PLOTTSS notes over "Five O'Clock Shadow."

 

Tuesday, January 17, 2017:  Students completed a pre-reading task as bell work, and then read through Act I, scene iii of Hamlet.  As homework, students should be answering study guide questions and completing graphic organizer and PLOTTSS notes.

 

Wednesday, January 18, 2017:  Students finished reading Act I of Hamlet in class.  As homework, students are to finish all graphic organizer and study guide work, as well as PLOTTSS notes.
