Class Activities and Assignments :

 

Monday, September 26, 2016:  Students completed their work with Chapter 5 of How to Read Literature Like a Professor as bell work, and then wrote a literary analysis paragraph as a class with the teacher.  As homework, students are to finish that paragraph writing task.

 

Tuesday, September 27, 2016:  Students wrote a short reflection on the paragraph composition they completed for class and then turned it all in.  Students viewed an introductory video about the Bronte sisters.  There is no homework in AP Lit. this evening.

 

Wednesday, September 28, 2016:  Students in first period reviewed their Jane Eyre anticipation guides, and students in all other classes completed their anticipation guides as bell work.  Students received an informal group research task as a means of enhancing social and historical context for reading the novel.  Students in classes with time remaining were able to begin their research.  As homework, students are to finish researching their topics and choose information to share in an informal presentation of 2-3 minutes in class tomorrow.

 

Thursday, September 29, 2016:  Students shared their research findings with classmates, who took notes as they listened.  Students then completed a multiple-choice practice.  As homework, students are to read through two bits of information: "The Angel in the House" and "The Figure of the Governess."
