Class Activities and Assignments for AP English Lit. & Comp. (all periods):

 

Monday, April 6, 2015: Students entered class and received their previous paragraphs from the synthesis paper with teacher feedback and instructions for improvement.  Students had class time to work on their next set of synthesis paper rough draft paragraphs, or read Chapter Four of Part One of The Stranger.  As homework, students are to complete the next two paragraphs of rough draft work for their synthesis papers and read through Chapter Four of Part One of The Stranger.

 

Tuesday, April 7, 2015:  Students entered class and turned in their next round of rough draft paragraphs for the synthesis paper assignment.  Students reviewed answers to the multiple-choice practice from last week, and then discussed multiple-choice success strategies.  Students received questions over The Stranger, Part I, Chapters 3-5.  As homework, students are to read through Chapter Five of Part One, and complete all questions--their answers are all due at the start of class tomorrow. Students should also to begin drafting their next set of rough draft paragraphs for their synthesis papers.

 

Wednesday, April 8, 2015:  Students entered class and turned in answers to study guide questions over Chapters 3-5 of The Stranger.  Students received their most recent rough draft paragraphs, graded with feedback from the teacher.  Students had time in class to compose their next rough draft paragraphs, or read The Stranger, Part I, Chapter 6.  The next paragraphs will be due at the start of class Thursday, and students need to have read through Chapter 6 by that time as well.

 

Thursday, April 9, 2015:  Students turned in two more major work rough draft paragraphs for their synthesis papers, then completed three passages of AP exam multiple-choice practice.  Students had the remaining time in class to read The Stranger, Part II, Chapter 1.  Students need to have the reading of that chapter completed by the start of class Friday.

 

Friday, April 10, 2015:  Students reviewed their performance on the multiple-choice practice completed in class yesterday, then began reading The Stranger, Part II, Chapter 2.  Students also received questions over Part I, Chapter 6, and Part II, Chapter 1.  Answers to those questions are due at the start of class Monday.  Students should also continue working on their next synthesis paper rough draft paragraphs.

 

Monday, April 13, 2015:  Students turned in their study guide work over The Stranger.  Students received their most recent synthesis paper rough draft paragraphs, scored and with feedback from the teacher.  Students are to complete their reading of The Stranger, Part II, Chapter 3, and write two rough draft paragraphs over their third major work for the synthesis paper.  The paragraphs and the reading should be completed by the start of class tomorrow.

 

Tuesday, April 14, 2015:  Students turned in two rough draft paragraphs over their third and final major work for their synthesis papers.  Students picked up questions over Part II, Chapters 2-4 of The Stranger.  Students received class time to work on the questions or their next two synthesis paper paragraphs.  As homework, students should complete all questions over Part II, Chapters 2-4 of The Stranger, and begin work on their next two synthesis paper paragraphs.
