Class Activities and Assignments for AP English Lit. & Comp. (all periods):

 

Monday, November 10, 2014:  Students turned in their "Miss Brill" work and took some basic PLOT notes.  As homework, students are to read "The Lesson" and plot out the story on a PLOT diagram.  The diagram/notes are due at the start of class tomorrow.

 

Tuesday, November 11, 2014:  The teacher checked PLOT pyramid notes, and a brief conversation about the theme and plot of "The Lesson" followed.  Then the teacher and students began discussing POINT OF VIEW.  Students are to complete their practice POINT OF VIEW analysis paragraph as homework.  It will be due at the start of class tomorrow.

 

Wednesday, November 12, 2014:  Students turned in their POV analysis work and picked up copies of "The Birthday Party," and read it.  Students used class time to re-write the story from a different perspective.  This re-write is due at the start of class tomorrow.

 

Thursday, November 13, 2014:  Students entered class and completed their eleventh round of AP Exam multiple-choice practice as bell work.  Students then worked in groups, sharing their POV re-writes with classmates.  All POV re-writes were turned in at the end of class.  There is no homework assigned for this evening.

 

Friday, November 14, 2014:  Students entered class and reviewed the correct answers and information pertaining to the previous day's multiple-choice practice. Students received a packet discussing analysis of ORGANIZATION.  Students read through the packet and composed two practice chunks, analyzing the ORGANIZATION of content in two separate poems.  The chunk work will be due at the start of class Monday.
