Current Class Activities & Assignments for English IV-A (Pds. 1, 2, & 3):

 

March 11, 2013:  Students reviewed essay structure, taking notes, and the teacher discussed the format and nature of the timed writing task that students will perform tomorrow.

 

March 12, 2013:  Students completed their timed essay task as the culminating composition assignment for Unit 4.

 

March 13, 2013:  Students read three poetic works by Lord Byron and completed a text analysis graphic organizer and several questions.  All work with the poetry will be due at the start of class tomorrow.

 

March 14, 2013:  Students reviewed levels of comedy by way of the comedic ladder and then began viewing a parody.

 

 

Current Class Activities & Assignments for APE Lit. (Pds. 4, 6, & 7):

 

March 11, 2013:  Students reviewed themes present in the novel A Tale of Two Cities.  Students turned in character notes.  Students are to continue exploring thematic elements of the novel as homework, in preparation for a timed essay tomorrow.

 

March 12, 2013:  Students completed timed essay responses over A Tale of Two Cities.

 

March 13, 2013:  Students completed objective tests over A Tale of Two Cities.

 

March 14, 2013:  Students took notes over characteristics of Southern literature and William Faulkner, and began reading As I Lay Dying.  Students are to read through page 15 as homework, recording all questions that they have from those chapters for review in class tomorrow.
